Offical cut with a spade of Raben Group for a new logistics terminal

Nuremberg, 4^th of October in 2011 – The Raben Group invested approximately 18 million euros in the construction of a cargo and logistics facility with a total area of 48,000 sqm. At the symbolic cut with a spade ceremony today the official start of construction was celebrated.

Raben Logistics Germany has been worked in Nuremberg around 50 years ago and since 1972 it residents in the port of Nuremberg. In summer next year in the new facility there will be – in addition to the existing terminal – 8,000 square envelope sites, a warehouse for approximately 25,000 pallet positions and office site build up. Placing transport orders for approximately 68,000 about 24,000 tons can be handled per month. The location of Nuremberg conduces Raben as a hub for the daily national and pan-European cargo traffic and grouped consignments. Green logistics and sustainability are also at Raben corporate social responsibilities. The new terminal will be employ about 300 people, including a continuous stock of 20 trainees.

The Raben Group is active in 10 countries with own subsidiaries and numerous subsidiaries in Germany and Central Europe. It employs 8,000 people and has a robust network of its own terminals in Europe. The family company has more than 800,000 sqm of warehouse space and approximately 5,500 haulage means. In Germany, more than 2,000 employees work in 24 offices. To 01 September 2011 were both the acquisition of the German road network and the activities of Wincanton in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia completed.
